I may have mentioned I’m a lazy showerer. But on the days I DO shower, especially Sundays, I like to indulge in an excessive and lengthy self-care process I call my “ablutions” and is mainly an excuse to rest and not talk to anyone.
Part of ablution time involves lying on the bed wearing a sheet mask.
I’ve tried many, and my purchase choices are heavily based on Amazon reviews. None of them have irritated my extremely sensitive skin so far, but I tend to avoid the citrus ones out of concern they will bleach or burn me. Concern that is not founded on any research or personal experience whatsoever…
The Face Shop Full Facial Mask Sheet [The Solution] Anti Aging Firming Moisturizing Essence Sheets for Dry to Sensitive Skin are my favorites. They have a kind of weird double mask going on. The mask sits on top of a sheet, and you peel it off to apply to your face. The nose part is really small (an Amazon reviewer points this out as well), and a lot of the serum/moisturizer gets stuck on the sheet (I squeeze it out). Despite all this, they’re my favorites—they’re super gentle and my face is noticeably clear, bright, and moisturized after using them. As the product description hilariously says: “FACE ON SLAY MODE – Put them on in the middle of the day if you want to bring your face back to slay mode like an Instagram supermodel. And don’t forget that face masks plus wife equal an opportunity to scare your husband late in the evening.”
In no particular order, here are other masks I’ve tried and approve.
Etude House Therapy Air Masks are on the cheaper side and are perfectly serviceable.
Mizon Essence Full Face Facial Mask Sheets are in the same cost camp as Etude House (actually, they’re an even better deal), and this set is full of fruit options which, for whatever reason, I find particularly enticing.
More of The Face Shop! The Facial Mask Sheets Real Nature Full Face Masks Peel Off Disposable Sheets aren’t as hardcore as the science tubes, but they’re gentle and hydrating, and I really like them.
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Sheets have new packaging and a new price, I see. Last year, when they looked like this:
I bought them for $15. But now they’re going for around $30…definitely not as affordable as they used to be…
Look how pretty the SAEM Natural Facial Mask Sheets are! I love the illustrations on the packaging. These definitely smell like the things they are (blueberry, rose, rice, etc.), but it’s not overwhelming. I found them pleasant.
Dermal Korea Collagen Essence Full Face Facial Mask Sheets are the least expensive of the bunch, currently $9.99 for 16 sheets on Amazon, have a 4.5 rating, and over one thousand reviews. They’re a good, affordable option. And look at all the fruit flavors! Approve.
Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheets—I particularly liked the shea butter, olive, and cucumber masks. And these are also a good deal at under one dollar each (10 for $8.50).
